LEED Certified Landscapes

Developed by the United States Green Building Council as an internationally recognized green building certification process, LEED awards projects based on Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design. Four Winds has been involved in several LEED projects in the Richmond area.

 Located in an industrial area of Richmond, this project has achieved LEED Platinum certification by reducing irrigation needs, creating wildlife habitat, and managing storm water on site. The use of native plants helps to achieve all of these goals.

Achieving a LEED rating of Gold, this project utilized infiltration basins to manage storm water runoff. The basins were planted with native species chosen for a staged blooming process. Existing site materials were also recycled for use as paving materials. The project duties of Four Winds included design, LEED documentation, permitting, and construction administration.
